On July 16, Zhejiang Kaihua Mould Co., Ltd. hosted a technical exchange event with a 10-member delegation from Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, led by Lu Jianjun, Dean of the institute’s School of Mould Technology. They embarked on in-depth discussions about mould technology and digital transformation. Kaihua’s Deputy General Manager Li Maoming and Kaihua Industry College Dean Qiu Ziyan warmly received the delegation, with both sides engaging in profound exchanges on cutting-edge industry technologies and corporate development experiences—touching on areas like injection mold efficiency and smart mold integration.
At the start of the exchange, Mr.Li guided the delegation through Kaihua’s exhibition hall, detailing Kaihua’s development journey, honorary achievements, and advanced technical results. From the arduous exploration in the early days of its establishment to its current leading position in the mould industry, every step embodies the wisdom and efforts of Kaihua people. The delegation highly praised Kaihua’s profound foundation and remarkable achievements in the mould field. The numerous honorary certificates and technical displays in the hall provided them with a more intuitive understanding of Kaihua’s strength in injection mold and mould innovation.
Following the tour, the delegation proceeded to Kaihua’s production workshop to observe the operation of automated production lines firsthand. In Kaihua’s unmanned smart workshop, they experienced the entire mould manufacturing process, where advanced production equipment, standardized workflows, sophisticated craftsmanship, highly automated machinery, and intelligent management systems left a strong impression.
Leveraging deep integration of digital technologies, Kaihua Mould has achieved precise control and efficient collaboration in production processes, significantly boosting productivity and product quality while demonstrating its leading edge in smart manufacturing. Dean Lu and his team closely examined the workshop’s layout and processes, gaining insights into Kaihua’s core mould-making technologies and innovative practices.
Post-tour, both parties held talks in the meeting room. Mr. Li detailed the company’s development history, corporate culture, and core competitiveness in the mould industry—with a focus on R&D achievements and application cases in advanced technologies like micro-foaming and thin-wall moulding. These technologies play a key role in reducing mould weight, enhancing production efficiency, and improving product performance, earning Kaihua high market recognition.
The two sides then discussed mould technology trends, innovation challenges and talent development models. Dean Lu praised Kaihua’s tech innovations and shared Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology’s experience in mould teaching and research. They agreed that mould industry growth relies on integrating tech innovation and talent cultivation, with school-enterprise cooperation key.
Kaihua’s digital transformation also drew focus. Mr. Li outlined its strategy, implementation and results: smart equipment upgrades, digital management systems and big data-driven decisions, boosting efficiency, quality control and supply chains. Dean Lu commended the efforts, noting the institute will explore digital teaching to foster talent for the mould sector’s digital shift.
This technical exchange marks a key opportunity for Kaihua and Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology to deepen school-enterprise cooperation. It has enhanced mutual understanding and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Kaihua will continue its open cooperation philosophy, strengthening university ties to jointly drive mould industry tech innovation and talent development—while exploring new digital transformation pathways to boost the sector’s high-quality growth.
Looking ahead, Kaihua aims to partner with more universities to explore cutting-edge injection mold and mould technologies, nurture skilled talent, and sustain industry progress. Let’s work together to build a brighter future.
