Mold Steel Tips

Steel for plastic molds covers a wide range, from ordinary steel to special steel. According to the property of the applicable product, we can divide it into 5 categories.
1. Ordinary Class
Generally, 718H and 2738 will be used to ordinary plastic products. If the surface of the product has skin texture, then XPM will be more suitable.
2. Transparent Class
After long-term use, the surface of the cavity made by S136 can still maintain the smooth, and it is a plastic mold steel with excellent corrosion resistance.
2343 is a high heat-resistant die steel, which also has good polishing rotation, high thermal fatigue resistance and wear resistance.
3. Hard Property Class
For harder plastic products, 2344 is a good choice, because it is suitable for aluminum, zinc, alloy cold extrusion and die casting.
4. Corrosion Resistance Class
2316 Mold steel is high corrosion resistance, high polishing pre-hardened plastic steel, which is suitable for cosmetic molds, stationery molds and other plastic molds that require polishing.
2083 die steel has excellent wear resistance, acid resistance and good polishing performance.
5. Special Class
Unimax has very excellent toughness and thermal strength, and polishability, which makes the mold with Unimax have excellent resistance to thermal cracking and overall cracking.
