However, when we use the pallets in such environment, their performance will change a lot compared with the use at room temperature, and the operation precautions when using them are also a lot different from the usual use.
When we use the pallets in the cold storage, it may be because the temperature is low and the surface is easy to frost or ice, which will cause the pallets to be very slippery. Therefore, be careful during use. If possible it is better to do a good job of anti-slip and anti-freeze measures to avoid accidents causing unnecessary losses.
In this regard, our suggestions are:
1.Pure raw material pallets would be the best choice.
Plastic pallets are generally made of pure raw materials and recycled materials. Most of the pallets on the market are mixed materials, and such pallets are usually used at room temperature without problems.
However, if the pallet is used for freezing, it will become brittle. It is easy to crack and damage during turnover and transportation, shortening the life of the pallet itself and thus increasing the purchase cost of the company.
Pure raw material pallets are flexible and more resistant to low temperatures, generally able to withstand about -30℃. Therefore, if pallets are to be used in cold storage, we suggest that it is best to use pure raw material pallets.
In addition, in the low temperature environment, it is recommended to use plastic pallets made of new PE material. the low temperature resistance of PE material is better than PP material, and the performance of the new material is much better than the old material in low temperature.
2.It is recommended to add low temperature resistant additives to the plastic pallets used in cold storage
Since plastic pallets in cold storage need to be more resistant to cold and frost than ordinary pallets, some additives must be added, such as antifreeze and plasticizer, which can extend the service life of pallets in cold storage without increasing the cost of the pallets themselves.
3.Recommended models of plastic pallets for cold storage
The plastic pallets used in cold storage are usually matched with manual hydraulic forklifts, and rarely use mechanical forklifts, so they usually use pallet of three runners series,such as Flat three runners、Grid three runners, with the size of 1300*1100*150mm.
